At Oséa Jewellery, we want your pieces to reflect your style for as long as possible. To keep them looking their best, here are a few tips—straight from the heart of Byron Bay. Please make sure to read this carefully!
Ocean-Friendly, But Handle With Care
Wearing your Oséa creations by the ocean is totally fine, but it’s important to remember that saltwater can be tough on jewellery. While your gold plating won’t tarnish quickly or turn your skin green, constant exposure to the ocean will cause the plating to fade over time, revealing the stainless steel, silver, or brass underneath. Don’t worry though—it’s all part of the journey. Your pieces will still shine for a long time, but the longer they’re exposed to saltwater, the faster the plating may fade.
Shower Time, Without the Shine
Although your Oséa jewellery is water-safe, we recommend removing it before you shower. Products like shampoo, body wash, and moisturizers can be harsh on gold plating, causing it to wear down faster. Keep your jewellery looking its best by leaving it off while you step under the water. And if you’re not already, it might be time to rethink your products too—your skin will thank you!
Poolside Vibes
Your Oséa jewellery can handle a little splash in the pool, but chlorine is a different story. Swimming with your Osea pieces isn’t ideal, as the chemicals in pool water can cause a more noticeable reaction than fresh water. To keep your jewellery looking its best, take it off before you dive in and let the ocean views take care of the rest.
Hand Washing
Hand soap can be surprisingly harsh on gold-plated jewellery, especially rings. The chemicals in soap can wear down the plating, so we recommend removing your rings before washing your hands. This will help keep them glowing for much longer.
